Recreation Program Curriculum
This program educates dancers in multiple disciplines with an emphasis on proper technique and an appreciation of the art. Our youngest dancers begin by exploring movement, rhythm, spatial awareness and building their own creativity. These concepts create a foundation that we nurture as dancers grow within the program.
As dancers progress through our program, they will be introduced to discipline, specific terminology, body placement and movement that is appropriately challenging for their level. Dancers have an opportunity to begin or rejoin throughout the year. They will have performance opportunities, showing off their dance development during an in-studio showcase in their final class, and/or by participating with their class in our end of year recital, in costume and on stage.

As we educate dancers, our goal is to increase exposure and understanding of the art form while giving dancers the opportunity to develop friendships, memories and an enhanced sense of self that will last a lifetime.
Class assessment and size
During the first two weeks of the quarter, each child will be assessed to make sure they are within an age and level appropriate class. On occasion, a class change may be appropriate to accommodate the needs of the student. At the discretion of the instructors at Carolina Dance Collaborative, dancers may be placed in classes based on their dance proficiency instead of age.
Each class must have at least 4 students enrolled in order to stay on the schedule. We are sorry for inconvenience this may cause. For the benefit of the students, class sizes are limited. If space is available, enrollment will remain open up to two weeks after the quarter begins; however, tuition will not be prorated for late registrants and any applicable fees remain.
